  • 2005.05.06 and 07 - Naperville Central HS - Drumshow

    Shameless plug:

    Drumshow
    Friday May 6th / Saturday May 7th
Naperville Central High School, 7:30 pm
    $7 students, $9 adults

This is a unique concert featuring a collection of percussion arrangements performed by NCHS's finest lot of percussionists. Everything from a Mr. Bungle cover to beating up cars to latin jazz to Hawaiian war god worshipers to a Beatles medley, and more. Think of it as a mixture of Blue Man Group, Stomp, an extremely contemporary percussion ensemble recital, a latin jazz band, and a featured guest artist playing some sweet vibraphone jazz. Out of all the school-affiliated music programs I've been in, this is by far the most hip and entertaining production.

You'll like it, so you should really go. Ticket info: 630-355-7933
Also, if i'm friends with you, we'll set up some sweet reserved seats for the lbe crew.

We went last year, and this was a really impressive show.
    Beware the mighty Septopus
    What a dandy guy
He lives on top of the submarine
    And he's always eating pies
He's always eating pies up there
    And throwing festivals
He's the grandest guy in town
    With seven testicles

Is this the last one before the school year is over?

I'd go if I was in town.

Doud, I wish to know the name of the Bungle cover. Are you playing tabla?

Last year's outing was indeed spectacular. And, yeah, I'm talking about Riffbot.

riffbot was the most spectacular musical genius i've ever had the pleasure of being witness to, even though it was just a video. if i were in town, i'd definitely make it out this year. good luck, doud!

                  Some updates:

This year there is a totallysupernew RIFFBOT video that i just saw for the first time last night. I saw it all in fast forward but it still looked rad as hell.

The show is only these two nights, sorry dean!

The cover is Ma Meeshka Mow Skwoz, or something like that. It's the opener.

boy, now i'll look stupid when it's the same video from last year. i think it's new...

also... I don't think I'll be able to get saved seats anymore, but if you just get there at a decent time you shouldn't have a problem.

even if it is the same riffbot as last year, it should be highly entertaining.

will there be any 107 shouting this year? hahaha
