    HAYMARKET RIOT
Taking a good piece of the Jesus Lizard's groove 'n' grind and then texturing that with strident punk chords and almost prog guitar licks, Haymarket Riot defy categorization. They definately fall a bit more on the punk end of the spectrum, but they mix things up with a lot of other influences and some very unique songwriting. The base of Haymarket Riot's sound is the heavy, emotional Midwestern punk sound that descends from bands like Husker Du and Naked Raygun but there's a whole lot more than just soul-bearing going on here. In particular, Haymarket Riot are particularly ambitious arrangers, dropping instruments in and out of the mix with a dub-inspired glee
SWEET COBRA (mbrs of The Killer / Suicide Note / on Seventh Rule)
Chicago's Sweet Cobra draws from the influences of His Hero Is Gone, Black Flag and Unsane to the more rock oriented Helmet and newer heavy staples High on Fire. One can hear those influences and variations of others, merging classic rock riffs and rhythms with hardcore breakdowns and heated angry vocals. Songs written like verses of an epic war story or something biblical, create the appropriate setting for the band's raw sound. Also Sweet Cobra contains current members of Suicide Note, The Hope Conspiracy, Suicide File, The Killing Tree and Challenger!
    BLACK PRINT
Modern-day punk at its finest. Sincere emotion coupled with diligently punctuated moments of absolute rage and beauty. Dramatically shredding and soothing at the same time. Features members of John Brown Battery, The 4-Squares and Last Day Parade.
SLEEPWALKER DEFENSE (formerly Redline / ex Bollweevils / John Brown Battery)
Denis Buckley of 88 Fingers Louie called Sleepwalker Defense an Alkaline Trio waiting to emerge as the next Vagrant darlings.
