Monday at 9pm at the Subterranean (2011 North Ave., at Damen and Milwaukee intersection, second floor) Bionic Rat will be playing to an empty room.
Bionic Rat is a free improv quintet featuring Simon Czerwinskyj and Kenny Rassmussen of No Funeral, myself and Bryan Herweg of Pelican, and Jason Hoffman the infamous electro-acoustic improviser who is not affiliated with any band outside of Bionic Rat for the time being although there may be someone out there (not reading this) who will remember him from his spirited performances with User With Torture Ramp back in the late 90s.
Opening will be the free improv stream of consciousness rapper Sharkula, flanked by his DJ Chuck Sunshine. If you haven't heard Shark (aka Thigamajig) then you are missing out on hearing him. So hear him and lose all sense of not having heard him. You hear?
