  • 2006.05.19 – Nite Cap - Disfear, 9 Shocks Terror, Phobia +2

Friday, May 19th, 2006 @ Nite Cap Lounge
    5007 W. Irving Park
    Chicago, IL

    Time: 6 PM
    Cost: ?

DISFEAR (swedish crust/metal/punk w/ AT THE GATES singer...sounds like TRAGEDY)

    9 SHOCKS TERROR (clevo legends)

PHOBIA (LA grind legends first chicago gig since '98)

MISERY INDEX (grindcore, members of Dying Fetus?)

    STRONG INTENTION (garauntee-loving, contract-core from ???)

hate to say it, but the gig is 21+. dave song & I tried everything we could do get an all-ages gig at the Beat Kitchen, the Abbey Pub, or No Exit, but the combination of NO CLUBS wanting to book 9 Shocks Terror and the all-around ineptitude of the singer of Strong Intention (who is booking the whole tour) made it impossible.

in case you live in Northern Rhodesia and have never heard either band, check out these sites & listen to the MP3's:

Also, Phobia is not really my jam, but they have been around forever & crusties worship them. It seems like people are talking about grindcore alot these days?

9 Shocks will be good live.

I have always wanted to see Misery Index, even sans Kevin Talley.

Phobia - ahah, Oroku Saki played that show with them! amazing...

Strong Intention is from Maryland, I believe.

well good news is that the show is only 10 bucks, that aint bad for five ****ing touring bands...even if you're from dupage county.

it starts at 8 or 8:30 pm.

kevin talley is only touring with hate eternal, and that show already came through chicago. damn. he might be playing drums on the new dying fetus, though.
