I can't say I'd listen to a Lichens CD ever, or that I'm that fond of the songs in general, but I became a fan of the guy when he opened for Explosions in the Sky at the Congress. Purely because it takes a lot of fucking balls to just get up in front of a ton of people like that and just be all looping yourself singing "EEEEWWWWWWWWWWWAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHH" with delay pedals and then play some heartfelt slow psychedelic guitar solo over it. You've really gotta believe in yourself to pull that off. I don't really want to listen to it for very long though.
