It's sort of a running theme on their blog.

They should stop openly advocating terrorism.

not playing any cards here, but i've been into this band for close to five years now. in that time, they've managed to play maybe one or two shows here, if that, and have been "slated" to play at least once a year, if not more.

I'm going to trust your pessimism and not buy these tickets right now.

i'd just keep an eye on the blog and/or wait for e. blum to let the internet know whether or not this is legit

aura's band is supposed to play with them down in NOLA a few weeks earlier (end of june, i think) so depending on how that goes (either: "they showed up, it was awesome" or "they cancelled, fuck life") could be also be a good indication of what to expect here

Alright, I just tried to post a long reply but I didn't do something right so lost it. So here's the shorter reply.

Name one Fucked Up show we booked in Chicago that got canceled-after we started promoting it.

The closest we got to that was a few months back, we were about to book them at the Beat Kitchen but something came up so we pulled the plug like hours before tickets went online.

Truth be told, they have never had to deal with working visas so give them a break--and missing the shows they missed during CMJ, etc...something tells me they will get help and have all their papers in order this time around.

Oh-and by the way they are doing a 5 week N. America tour so keep checking the Jade Tree site as they're to post thier up tour itinerary soon.

Now, since Joe booked and confirmed the later Sweet Cobra/Coliseum show and we booked and confirmed the Fucked Up show--+ with summer around the corner (meaning there will be lots more shows you all will start to consider going to) we decided to start promoting these shows sooner than later...

Also, PLEASE keep this in mind, (taken from another post Mark made regarding the shows):

obviously since these shows are happening at a club, they will be running on a strict time schedule IE not punk time. SIMILARLY, like Big Joe's Modern Life Is War shows here, THERE IS NO STAGE DIVING DURING FUCKED UP!!!!! If you stage dive, you will be kicked out of the club and not let back in.

You also jepordize our ability to be able to do shows at this club. That poses a big problem for when larger bands like MLIW, Tragedy, Limp Wrist, etc come to town. We obviously cant do these shows at the Albion house. If you MUST stage dive during FU, here is their weekend itinerary: 7/11 Twin Cities, 7/12 Chicago, 7/13 Des Moines, 7/14 Kansas City, 7/15 St Louis.

I have more dates, but thought to throw those out since they're the drive-able ones that someone may consider going too...

Stage-hacking are the only way to keep the scene alive.
