README: HOW TO SUBMIT A POST TO THE SHOWS SECTION

Note: ALL submissions to the "Show Listings" section must be approved by the forum moderators prior to it showing publicly. Please, only submit your show once.

How to submit a post to the shows section

STEP ONE: Register for an account on LBE

STEP TWO: Read the following

Give it a proper title:
Titles/Subjects for the show posting must be of the following format:
YYYY.MM.DD - Well-known venue [or] City - List bands until you're stopped from typing anymore

Shows not titled like so will take longer to appear in the list because they will be edited. Shows are titled like so because it's crucial to sorting this forum.

Say that No Doubt, Creed, and He Who Corrupts is playing the Fireside on August 19, 2003. Putting it into our format, we end up with this:
2003.08.19 - Fireside Bowl - Creed, No Doubt, HWC

MC Hammer, Pink, and Hootie and the Blowfish are playing in some kid's basement in Naperville on March 3, 2004. We get this:
2004.03.22 - Naperville - Hootie and the Blowfish, Pink, MC Hammer

Formatting your post:
The following is an example of how your show information should be formatted. It is formatted in this way because it's easy for most people to digest. It's logically ordered!

Example:

Subject: 2003.08.19 - Fireside Bowl - Creed, No Doubt, HWC
Contents:

It's sort of a running theme on their blog.

They should stop openly advocating terrorism.

not playing any cards here, but i've been into this band for close to five years now. in that time, they've managed to play maybe one or two shows here, if that, and have been "slated" to play at least once a year, if not more.

i'd just keep an eye on the blog and/or wait for e. blum to let the internet know whether or not this is legit

aura's band is supposed to play with them down in NOLA a few weeks earlier (end of june, i think) so depending on how that goes (either: "they showed up, it was awesome" or "they cancelled, fuck life") could be also be a good indication of what to expect here

Alright, I just tried to post a long reply but I didn't do something right so lost it. So here's the shorter reply.

Name one Fucked Up show we booked in Chicago that got canceled-after we started promoting it.

The closest we got to that was a few months back, we were about to book them at the Beat Kitchen but something came up so we pulled the plug like hours before tickets went online.

Truth be told, they have never had to deal with working visas so give them a break--and missing the shows they missed during CMJ, etc...something tells me they will get help and have all their papers in order this time around.

Oh-and by the way they are doing a 5 week N. America tour so keep checking the Jade Tree site as they're to post thier up tour itinerary soon.

Now, since Joe booked and confirmed the later Sweet Cobra/Coliseum show and we booked and confirmed the Fucked Up show--+ with summer around the corner (meaning there will be lots more shows you all will start to consider going to) we decided to start promoting these shows sooner than later...

Also, PLEASE keep this in mind, (taken from another post Mark made regarding the shows):

obviously since these shows are happening at a club, they will be running on a strict time schedule IE not punk time. SIMILARLY, like Big Joe's Modern Life Is War shows here, THERE IS NO STAGE DIVING DURING FUCKED UP!!!!! If you stage dive, you will be kicked out of the club and not let back in.

You also jepordize our ability to be able to do shows at this club. That poses a big problem for when larger bands like MLIW, Tragedy, Limp Wrist, etc come to town. We obviously cant do these shows at the Albion house. If you MUST stage dive during FU, here is their weekend itinerary: 7/11 Twin Cities, 7/12 Chicago, 7/13 Des Moines, 7/14 Kansas City, 7/15 St Louis.

I have more dates, but thought to throw those out since they're the drive-able ones that someone may consider going too...
